A common variant of the Advance Fee Scam is Free Gift & Prize Scams. The potential victim will receive a phone call, email or text message that they have won a prize such as a car or a fully-paid vacation. However, no such prize really exists and this false premise has been created to extract money under the guise of various fees that need to be paid to avail the prize.
